About the role#
Wave Life Sciences is looking for a co-op student to join our process technology team in Lexington, Massachusetts. This position offers hands-on experience with oligonucleotide synthesis, chromatographic purification, and analysis. You will receive training on laboratory techniques and specialized instrumentation while working alongside our scientists.
What you'll do#
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and columns for synthesis.
- Operate automated oligonucleotide synthesizers, purifiers, and tangential flow filtration systems.
- Perform purification and tangential flow filtration of oligonucleotides.
- Analyze samples using UPLC and LC-MS.
- Quantify oligos using spectrophotometers.
- Document experiments in an electronic notebook and perform batch record reviews.
- Maintain inventory and manage data using Excel.
- Present experimental results during group meetings.
- Follow all lab safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program related to Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in an organic chemistry or biochemistry laboratory is preferred.
