About the role#
The Srivatsan Lab at Fred Hutch is looking for a Research Intern to join our team. We focus on developing computational tools and methods to analyze high throughput single-cell genomics data. You will work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and senior laboratory staff to support our investigative research. We offer a supportive environment with a focus on individualized mentoring and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Perform dry-lab experiments to support investigative work.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and compile experimental data.
- Interpret and report on the results of your experiments.
- Attend regular lab meetings and present your scientific findings to the team.
- Assist with general lab and cluster cleaning and organization.
- Collaborate with lab staff and contribute to a respectful work environment.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at a university or community college.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- The ability to learn new tools and content quickly on your own.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfort working independently without constant supervision.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Biology, or Biomedical Sciences.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Seattle, Washington.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid position with a pay range of $21.30 to $30.13 per hour, depending on your experience.
- The term is rolling.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
