About the role#
Labcorp is seeking an intern for the Oncology Research and Development team. You will work with the team in San Diego to develop or improve oncology-focused assays and testing capabilities. This is a part-time position scheduled for 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Learn the clinical testing and processing methods used in test development.
- Gain experience with molecular techniques, including Next Generation Sequencing.
- Assist with complex data analysis and writing assignments.
- Apply critical thinking to experimental results.
- Share your findings during laboratory meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, or Biological Science.
- Previous or active internship experience at Labcorp.
- Hands-on experience in a cell or molecular biology laboratory.
- An interest in clinical testing or molecular research.
- A curious mindset and a desire to learn new things.
- Preferred: 3 to 6 months of experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies.
