About the role#
Labcorp is hiring a Lab Intern for our South Bend, Indiana location for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship running for 11 weeks from June 1st to August 13th. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory environment while contributing to meaningful projects.
What you'll do#
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
- Assist with daily tasks including specimen organization, inventory management, and workspace preparation.
- Participate in mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
- Support approved laboratory projects.
- Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- Strong interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a willingness to follow established procedures.
- Punctuality, professionalism, and an eagerness to learn new scientific concepts.
Location & details#
- Location: South Bend, Indiana.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week).
