About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our Chemical Biology team to work on our core polymer-synthesis platform. You will learn about the chemistry of proteins and biomolecules while developing as a professional scientist. This role is open to students from biology or chemistry backgrounds who want to see their work used in biological systems.
What you'll do#
- Characterize the behavior of novel proteins that synthesize polymers.
- Use our prototype device to synthesize new biological materials.
- Design and execute statistically guided experiments to improve our synthesis cycle.
- Analyze and purify biological molecules using liquid chromatography systems.
- Draft and maintain protocols, SOPs, and Benchling documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Strong curiosity and a desire to understand how biology works.
- Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Prior wetlab experience with pipetting and gels is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The position is full-time and paid at a rate of $25 to $35 per hour.
- This is a short-term engagement and is not eligible for health and welfare benefits.
