About the role#
Wave Life Sciences is looking for a Medicinal Chemistry Co-op to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role supports our medicinal chemistry efforts through laboratory work and the development of novel nucleic acid therapies. You will gain hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and experimental design while working on-site.
What you'll do#
- Perform multi-step organic synthesis and isolate newly synthesized chemical compounds.
- Analyze compounds using techniques such as UV-Vis, LC/MS, polarimeter, and NMR.
- Troubleshoot and optimize reaction protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental design and conditions in electronic notebooks.
- Present your data and results in both oral and written formats during team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate education in a chemistry discipline.
- Successful completion of Organic Chemistry I and II, including lab components.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
