About the role#
This internship provides a hands-on experience within the CNN Health team. Interns work directly with staff to contribute to news production and editorial processes. This is a paid, part-time opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in a professional news environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn how TV and text stories are crafted from initial idea to final script and edit.
- Observe and participate in the vetting and research processes for news stories.
- Develop and strengthen professional research and interview skills.
- Contribute to and write stories for CNN TV and CNN.com.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program, specifically as a rising Junior or Senior.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated experience in news writing, including work samples or published bylines.
- A passion for news and the ability to identify and tell compelling stories.
- Majors in Communications, Journalism, or Public Health are preferred.
- Experience in medical or science news is considered an asset.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026 (October 12th to December 18th).
- Commitment: 16 to 24 hours per week.
- Modality: Hybrid, with regular in-office attendance required based on manager schedule.
