About the role#
CNN offers multiple digital editorial internship opportunities for the Fall 2026 term. This program provides hands-on experience and mentorship within the editorial and newsgathering teams. Interns will work in a professional newsroom environment, contributing to daily operations and long-term projects while gaining exposure to industry-leading journalism.
What you'll do#
- Report and write multiple news stories every week under deadline pressure.
- Pitch story ideas and contribute original content to CNN Digital.
- Conduct interviews and perform independent research on designated topics.
- Fact-check information and log tapes for news segments.
- Collaborate with team members on breaking news and digital features.
What you'll need#
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in academic good standing.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to provide writing samples.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, English, or Political Science.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The role is on-site, requiring regular attendance at the office.
- The program runs for 10 weeks from October 12th to December 18th.
- Interns are expected to work 16 to 24 hours per week.
