About the role#
The CNN Image+Sound Field Production internship offers hands-on experience in the Washington, DC area. This role focuses on capturing news events and documenting stories that illustrate current affairs. Interns will work in a hybrid capacity for 10 weeks, from October 12th to December 18th, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist CNN Photojournalists and Directors of Photography with news coverage in and around Washington, DC.
- Learn the technical and editorial processes involved in recording news events.
- Contribute to storytelling that meets high ethical, aesthetic, and editorial standards.
What you'll need#
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior actively enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and remain in academic good standing.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
- Passion for news and a self-motivated approach to work.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in high-volume environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Fall 2026 (16-24 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship at $19 per hour.
