About the role#
The Social Media Intern will support the Marketing Department during the live racing meet at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. This role focuses on creating digital content that highlights racing, gaming, and guest experiences. This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship based on-site in New Orleans.
What you'll do#
- Capture, edit, and publish content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
- Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews with guests, team members, jockeys, trainers, and entertainers.
- Write brand-appropriate captions and social media copy.
- Provide real-time event coverage during live racing and special events.
- Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on content calendars and creative campaigns.
What you'll need#
- Must be 21 years or older and able to obtain a Louisiana State Racing License.
- Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Media Studies.
- Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Proficiency with editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the live racing schedule.
- Ability to work in various environments, including the slot floor and barn areas, and lift up to 25 pounds.
