About the role#
The Social Media Intern will work with the Marketing Department during the live racing meet at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. This role focuses on creating digital content that highlights racing, gaming, and guest experiences. You will help the team manage social media channels and support promotional campaigns.
What you'll do#
- Capture and create content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
- Film, edit, and publish reels, videos, and stories.
- Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews with guests, jockeys, trainers, and entertainers.
- Write captions and social media copy that fit the brand.
- Assist with real-time coverage during live racing and special events.
- Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages.
- Work with the Marketing team to build content calendars.
What you'll need#
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must hold or be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Media Studies.
- Ability to obtain a Louisiana State Racing License.
- Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar editing tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort interacting with guests and conducting interviews.

- Term: Summer 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time and paid.
- Schedule: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for live racing events.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various environments including the slot floor and barn area.
