As a Field Operations Manager on the Student Transit team, you will lead daily operations to ensure reliable and safe transportation services. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role focused on managing real-time challenges and elevating the experience for students, school districts, and drivers.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily onsite service operations to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
- Make real-time decisions regarding driver supply, compliance, and unexpected service issues.
- Support and guide drivers by building strong relationships and addressing their concerns.
- Analyze student and district feedback to identify patterns and implement operational improvements.
- Utilize data and technology to diagnose performance issues and enhance service efficiency.
- Serve as the primary operational link between school partners, drivers, and internal teams.
What you'll need#
- Professional experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented roles.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to earn trust from diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a preference for field-based problem solving.
- Ability to balance immediate tactical problem-solving with long-term strategic planning.
- Academic background in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position requiring presence 4-5 days per week.
- Available locations: Sacramento, CA; San Jose, CA; or Santa Rosa, CA.
- This role is paid with a salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 per year.
