About the role#
VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Center offers a rotating specialty internship for classes starting in Summer 2026 and Winter 2027. Located in Northern Virginia, this program provides clinical experience under the guidance of specialists and practitioners. You will work with 24-hour emergency and critical care services alongside a variety of referral specialties.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through specialties including emergency medicine, cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, and surgery.
- Participate in off-site rotations covering general practice, neurology, ophthalmology, and shelter medicine.
- Provide care for hospitalized patients while under supervision.
- Assist the team with surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure patients receive comprehensive care.
- Pursue continuing education and professional development.
