About the role#
VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Center offers a rotating specialty internship program designed to provide broad clinical experience. Interns work under the supervision of skilled specialists and practitioners, with a primary focus on emergency medicine. The program includes rotations through various on-site specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, and surgery. Additional off-site rotations are available in general practice, neurology, ophthalmology, and shelter medicine, with elective opportunities in dentistry, holistic medicine, behavioral medicine, and zoological medicine.
What you'll do#
- Participate in rotations through various specialties including emergency medicine.
- Provide care for hospitalized patients under supervision.
- Assist in surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
