Rotating Intern

About the role#

This one-year rotating internship provides intensive experience in managing small animal clinical cases under the supervision of Staff DVMs. The program utilizes Staff doctors at VCA California Veterinary Specialists and approved out-rotations to support professional development.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care as a veterinarian by examining patients, ordering tests, making diagnoses, prescribing treatments, and communicating with clients and referring veterinarians.
• Participate in the clinical and tutorial instruction of extern students, including leading daily rounds.
• Attend Journal club, Hospital Rounds, and required seminars.
• Provide clinical care as part of an emergency duty schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you'll need#

• A DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary college.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medicine.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating emergency duty schedule.
