About the role#
The Finance Intern for the Americas team will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and analysis. This role supports the daily financial planning activities that inform business decisions. You will contribute to the success of the finance department through real-time challenges and projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
- Build and update financial models to support revenue, margin, and expense planning.
- Analyze budget versus actual performance to identify key drivers of variances.
- Support the creation of monthly management reporting packages, dashboards, and KPI summaries.
- Gather, validate, and synthesize data from multiple business units and systems.
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses to answer leadership questions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Commercial teams to translate business initiatives into financial implications.
- Build and maintain Excel-based or Python-driven models, including scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Improve model automation and streamline data flows.
- Support special projects such as pricing analysis, transformation savings tracking, headcount planning, or capital investment evaluations.
- Work with financial systems including SAP, BPC, and Power BI.
- Present findings and insights to FP&A managers and cross-functional leaders.
- Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business groups.
- A collaborative, professional, and proactive mindset.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship.
- The role is based at the Valvoline Global Operations Americas headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky.
- This position requires an on-site presence, with a hybrid work modality.
