Valvoline Global is seeking a top-tier college student pursuing a Master’s degree to join its Data Science & Analytics team for a hands-on summer internship. This role offers the opportunity to work on a real, high-impact analytics project supporting one of Valvoline's strategic priorities — which may span pricing and commercial analytics, supply chain and operations, or customer and market insights — with direct visibility into how data shapes decisions at a global company. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role suited for candidates who enjoy working with real-world data, thrive with a degree of ambiguity, and want exposure to how a data science function operates inside a large, global organization. What our internship provides: Paid on-site summer internship (up to 12 weeks) starting in May 2027 Valvoline Global Operations Americas Headquarters is located in Cincinnati, OH. We prefer candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (4x per week). How You’ll Make an Impact As a Data Science & Analytics Intern, you will: Scope and frame a real business problem in partnership with the Data Science & Analytics team, translating a business question into an analytical approach Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple internal systems, ensuring quality and consistency before analysis Build and test models or statistical approaches (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, predictive modeling) appropriate to the project Design clear dashboards and visualizations that make complex findings easy for stakeholders to understand and act on Collaborate cross-functionally with pricing, commercial, supply chain, IT, and other teams to validate assumptions and refine your analysis Synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations for the business problem you're addressing Present findings and recommendations to Data & AI leadership and relevant business stakeholders What You’ll Need Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field Proficiency in Python or R and SQL, with exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Solid foundation in statistics and machine learning concepts, with the ability to apply them to messy, real-world data Strong problem-solving and communication skills; comfort working with incomplete information and explaining technical findings clearly Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence a plus Familiarity with SAP Datasphere and Databricks preferred Must be able to work on-site at VGO’s Cincinnati, OH headquarters. #LI-MW1 Valvoline Global is an equal opportunity employer.
