About the role#
The AI Automation Intern identifies and evaluates ways to apply agentic AI and automation to business processes. You will work directly with business stakeholders to map out workflows, identify manual tasks, and document decision points. The goal is to translate these needs into potential AI solutions, then build, test, and demonstrate proofs of concept. This role focuses on improving end-to-end business efficiency rather than providing general administrative support.
What you'll do#
- Partner with business stakeholders to document current-state processes, pain points, handoffs, and manual work.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities where agentic AI, copilots, or workflow automation can improve efficiency.
- Translate business needs into clear use cases, requirements, process flows, and success measures.
- Build and test proofs of concept using approved AI and automation tools.
- Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and alignment with business requirements.
- Prepare demonstrations, findings, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps for business and technology leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in business, operations, information systems, computer science, engineering, or data analytics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate business problems into structured requirements.
- Basic understanding of AI, automation, data, or software concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and learn new tools quickly.
- Access to high-speed internet and a reliable method of transportation for commuting.

- Location: Rosemont, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Modality: Hybrid (combination of onsite and remote work).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
