It's a chance to grow your skills, make an impact, and be part of an organization dedicated to creating a healthier future for people, animals, and the planet.Summary of RoleThe Analytics and AI Solutions Intern will support active software, reporting, and analytics projects using AI-assisted development tools and techniques. Working with software engineers, analytics engineers, and internal stakeholders, the intern will analyze identified needs, translate them into development-ready specifications, and build and test clearly scoped technical solutions.This role is designed for a strong analytical problem solver who is interested in using AI tools to build software, reporting, analytics, and automation solutions. Prior coding experience is preferred but less important than the ability to structure problems, evaluate results, learn technical concepts, and improve solutions through iteration.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct Analysis and Development Specification - Analyze identified business and user needs, including workflows, business rules, data requirements, dependencies, and exceptions. - Translate analysis into development-ready requirements, technical context, manageable tasks, and acceptance criteria. - Identify gaps, assumptions, or unclear requirements and work with project team members to resolve them.AI-Assisted Product Development - Use approved AI-assisted development tools to build and refine code, queries, report components, automations, tests, prototypes, features, or enhancements. - Translate specifications into structured context, instructions, constraints, and examples that guide AI-assisted development. - Troubleshoot and refine technical solutions through iteration, testing, and engineering feedback. - Apply established development, data, security, privacy, and governance guidelines. - Extending AI harnesses and embed AI into existing software to reach enterprise data and services so they can both answer questions and take action within established integration, security, and governance guidelines.Solution Testing and Technical Evaluation - Critically review AI-generated code and technical output for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with requirements. - Test solutions against business rules, acceptance criteria, expected data results, and intended user outcomes. - Identify defects, incomplete logic, data concerns, limitations, and unintended behavior. - Document results and revise solutions based on testing and technical review.Collaboration, Documentation, and Learning - Participate in project working sessions, technical reviews, demonstrations, and feedback discussions. - Document requirements, technical decisions, testing results, limitations, and user guidance. - Communicate progress, findings, questions, and risks to project team members. - Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.Additional Duties and Responsibilities - Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation.- Currently working toward a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break complex or ambiguous needs into logical components.- Interest in using AI-assisted development tools to build practical technical solutions.- Interest in connecting AI to real systems. - Ability to critically evaluate technical output, identify gaps, and improve solutions through testing and iteration.- Familiarity with programming, querying, scripting, automation, or report development preferred.- Familiarity with Python, SQL, JavaScript, or a comparable language preferred.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to learn new tools and technical concepts through hands-on application.- Ability to work independently while seeking appropriate guidance and technical review.- Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.- Interest in organic agriculture, sustainability, and the cooperative business model preferredBase hourly rate: $20.00 per hourHours per week: 40 hoursInternship Program Overview - Program concludes after 12 weeks - Furnished housing provided or housing stipend- Engaging and project-based experiences with a leading organic food brand- Network and learn from our business leaders in a "Learn the Co-op Series"- Various intern group events held throughout the summer- Interns are paid hourly for time worked- Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work
