About the role#
The Farm Supply and Forecasting Intern supports the Pools Forecasting and Analytics department. You will help improve supply visibility and forecast accuracy across farm supply planning. This role involves building out egg supply forecasts, refining AI tools for validation, and preparing analytical summaries for stakeholders. You will work on projects that directly impact how the cooperative manages farm data and supply planning.
What you'll do#
- Build, validate, and finalize egg supply forecasts by cleaning and organizing farm production data.
- Refine AI-enabled tools used to validate forecasts and compare outputs against established methodologies.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and worksheets to communicate project findings and recommendations.
- Document project workflows, data assumptions, and validation steps to ensure process transparency.
- Partner with team members to understand business requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Participate in department meetings and present final project summaries to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, with one year or less remaining until graduation.
- Degree pursuit in agriculture, economics, data science, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with preference for experience in Excel or Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills to work with detailed data sets and identify trends.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively while working both independently and in team settings.
- Interest in organic agriculture, cooperative business models, and process improvement.
Location & details#
- Location: LaFarge, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 31 to August 20).
- Modality: Hybrid (3-5 days per week onsite at the LaFarge office).
- Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid hourly at $20.00 per hour.
- Additional: Furnished housing or a housing stipend is provided.
