About the role#
Unum is hiring for a 10-week paid internship in sales and client management. You will work in a professional office setting and gain experience in the disability-based employee benefits marketplace. This program provides a look at the full lifecycle of a case, from prospecting and quoting to enrollment and relationship management. You will work independently and within teams while receiving guidance from assigned mentors and sponsors. The program concludes with a capstone presentation where you will analyze an assigned business case for key leaders.
What you'll do#
- Experience the lifecycle of a Unum case through weekly focus areas.
- Participate in targeted job shadows with sales and client management colleagues.
- Attend weekly information sessions and networking events with your intern cohort.
- Develop professional skills through dedicated workshops.
- Present your analysis of a business case to leadership at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college degree program, with preference for rising seniors or first-year graduate students.
- A competitive GPA.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Ability to work independently and manage project work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Interest in sales, client management, and the insurance industry.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, or Psychology.
