About the role#
This is a year-round, paid internship providing exposure to general business functions including operations, strategy, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Interns gain professional experience within the insurance industry while working in an office setting. This role requires a minimum nine-month commitment.
What you'll do#
- Provide high-quality transactional support to business areas with a focus on productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
- Develop effective partnerships and collaborate across various departments.
- Function as a team player by backing up peers, addressing conflict constructively, and engaging in feedback.
- Manage assigned tasks independently and prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Adhere strictly to all privacy guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year college degree program or an MBA program, with a preference for students who have completed at least two years of coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in your major or overall.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated openness to mastering new tasks and processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Must be available to work at least 15 hours per week during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm). Hours may increase up to 40 per week during school breaks based on business needs.
