About the role#
This is a year-round, paid internship providing support across general business functions including operations, strategy, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Interns gain professional experience in the supplemental insurance and disability-based employee benefits industry while working in an office setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide high-quality transactional support to business areas with a focus on productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships across various departments.
- Work as a team player by backing up peers, addressing conflict constructively, and participating in feedback loops.
- Adhere strictly to all privacy guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year college degree program or an MBA program (completion of at least 2 years of coursework is preferred).
- A minimum GPA of 3.0, either in your major or overall.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a culture of ongoing coaching and feedback.
Location & details#
- Location: Portland, Maine.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Commitment: Minimum 9-month commitment required.
- Schedule: Must be available for at least 15 hours per week during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). Interns may work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks based on business needs.
- Requirements: All candidates must complete a satisfactory background check.
