About the role#
The Retirement Sales Internship at Manulife John Hancock is a summer program designed to build a pipeline of future talent. You will work alongside internal sales leadership and business partners to gain an immersive, professional learning experience. This role focuses on sales strategy, financial products, and client engagement.
What you'll do#
- Learn foundational industry knowledge including investments, financial products, privacy, compliance, and the John Hancock business model.
- Train on core sales systems such as Salesforce, Brightscope Beacon, investment comparison tools, and other prospecting resources.
- Support retirement sales divisions by conducting research, preparing reports, and contributing to internal projects.
- Participate in networking sessions with subject matter experts across departments like National Accounts, Investments, Marketing, and Product.
- Engage in professional development workshops and receive coaching from sales leaders and the learning and development team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Sales, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in a career in finance or sales after graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience in financial services, sales, or client-facing roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or other sales enablement platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through prior roles, campus involvement, or extracurricular activities.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to changing needs.
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm for client engagement, and strong relationship-building skills.
