About the role#
This 10-week paid internship offers a look into the disability-based employee benefits marketplace. You will join a team in Columbia, Maryland, to explore the full lifecycle of a Unum case. The program includes project work, job shadowing, and a capstone presentation for business leaders. You will work approximately 40 hours per week during regular business hours.
What you'll do#
- Learn the end-to-end process of a Unum case, including prospecting, quoting, selling, enrollment, onboarding, and relationship management.
- Work with assigned mentors and sponsors who provide guidance and support.
- Attend professional development workshops, networking events, and weekly information sessions with other interns.
- Complete an assigned business case analysis for a final presentation.
- Receive support for resume writing and interview preparation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college degree program, with a preference for rising seniors or first-year graduate students.
- A competitive GPA and a genuine interest in sales and client management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Communications, Sociology, or Psychology.
