About the role#
UVA Athletics Student Success is hiring Study Hall Monitors for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports student-athletes by maintaining a productive academic environment during evening study hall hours. Monitors work on-site in Charlottesville from Monday through Thursday, between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
What you'll do#
- Supervise students during study hall sessions.
- Maintain a quiet and organized learning space.
- Track student attendance by checking them in and out.
- Enforce program rules and expectations professionally.
- Address minor behavioral issues and report concerns to the Student Success Team.
- Assist with closing procedures at the end of the shift.
- Communicate clearly with staff and students.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time UVA student (second year or above).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain calm and attentive in a supervisory role.
- Understanding of UVA, ACC, and NCAA guidelines.
- Interest in fields such as Psychology, Communications, or Human Resources.

- Compensation: $15 to $20 per hour.
