About the role#
The Foundry, the hub for entrepreneurship at the University of Virginia, is hiring Venture Support staff. This role assists student Founders by connecting them with resources, managing communication, and supporting advising sessions. You will gain exposure to the startup ecosystem at UVA while helping teams maintain momentum alongside their academic work.
What you'll do#
- Document programming, workshops, and speaker events.
- Assign mentors and advisors to student Founders.
- Manage ongoing communication with venture teams.
- Connect students with necessary resources and maintain Foundry materials.
- Represent The Foundry during outreach activities across Grounds.
- Assist with special projects and event coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at UVA.
- Strong interest in startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in teamwork environments.
- Background in business, consulting, design, or related fields through coursework or previous work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and requires on-site work.
- The role is part-time, typically 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Core hours are weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend events.
- The pay rate is $17 per hour.
- Schedules are flexible to accommodate your academic commitments.
