About the role#
The UVA Career Center is hiring a Data & Analytics Assistant to support our internal data operations. This part-time position is open to current undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Virginia. You will work less than 20 hours per week in a role focused on business intelligence, data visualization, and information management.
What you'll do#
- Extract data resources from various programs and products.
- Assist in assembling data for inclusion in a central repository.
- Design visual reports using Qlik, the university's business intelligence tool.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at UVA.
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- Skill in extracting data reports consistently and comprehensively.
- Experience working in a relational database environment.
- Experience using a query language.
- Majors in Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics are preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Charlottesville, VA.
- The position begins in Summer 2027 and continues through the Fall 2027 and Winter 2027 terms.
- This is a paid position.
- The work is primarily sedentary and involves extensive use of desktop computers, with occasional travel required for meetings and programs.
