    About the role#

    The Division of Student Affairs is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Opportunity Youth Adult Workforce Development program. You will work within the Career Center to assist with experiential learning initiatives, including the eWorks: Career Leagues Program and various public service and health internships. This role offers hands-on experience in program coordination, student engagement, and employer relations.

    What you'll do#

    • Plan and coordinate workshops, trainings, and program events, including setup and logistics.
    • Support communication with students, alumni, staff, and community partners by drafting emails and program updates.
    • Help connect students to internships, workshops, and employment opportunities.
    • Maintain tracking systems for student participation and outcomes using platforms like Handshake.
    • Assist with data entry, reporting, and program evaluation to support program improvement.
    • Create and distribute marketing materials and manage social media content.
    • Represent the program at outreach events, tabling, and campus activities.
    • Collaborate with Career Center staff on cross-functional initiatives and administrative projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution on the university affiliation list.
    • Minimum enrollment of six-semester units for undergraduates or four-semester units for graduate students.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently or in a team.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
    • Reliability, professionalism, and an interest in career services or workforce development.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms is preferred.
    • Graduate students in Counseling, Educational Leadership, or related fields are preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Sacramento, California.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Flexible hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
    • Commitment: Up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, with the possibility of up to 40 hours during breaks.
    • Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
