About the role#
Brandeis Hospitality is hiring a Student Sustainability Intern to support dining program initiatives. This role offers students the chance to gain practical experience in food service sustainability while contributing to campus programs like waste reduction, emissions tracking, and responsible sourcing. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support sustainability goals within the dining program.
- Work with the Student Union, Dining Committee, and other campus groups.
- Help expand the food donation program.
- Audit and track local and sustainable procurement.
- Assist with events such as Wipe Out Waste, Just Try It, Pick Your Portion, Food Waste Prevention Week, and Earth Month.
- Create content for social media.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Brandeis University.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in sustainability and food service systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse groups.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to learning.
Location & details#
- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, with priority given to availability during business hours.
- Term: Rolling.
