About the role#
This internship within the Materials Technology Development group focuses on Assembly Technology Development. You will contribute to fundamental research and experimentation to advance next-generation assembly packaging platform technologies.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research to characterize materials and identify potential failure modes.
- Analyze structure-property-performance relationships to assess material feasibility.
- Provide strategic recommendations regarding material technology.
- Work with suppliers to develop and source material formulations.
- Build an understanding of assembly processes and how materials interact within them.
- Partner with Equipment and Process Engineering teams to implement and evaluate new technologies.
- Design assembly processes and equipment using innovative concepts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in fundamental research and experimentation.
- Technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present findings clearly.
- Capacity to learn quickly and work well across multiple teams.

- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Phoenix, Arizona.
- This position does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
