About the role#
This internship is designed for graduate students in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research. You will work on projects that analyze and improve semiconductor manufacturing operations. You will use mathematical modeling, discrete event simulation, and software development to solve complex problems.
What you'll do#
- Build and enhance factory simulation models.
- Create data pipelines and analytics solutions.
- Conduct experiments to support capacity and production decisions.
- Apply statistical methods to improve operational outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master's degree program in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong background in software development with experience in Python, R, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, and time series analysis.
- Proficiency in machine learning, including regression, clustering, neural networks, and transformer models.
- Knowledge of LangChain for LLM applications and model fine-tuning techniques like LoRA or QLoRA.
- Preferred graduation date of December 2027 or Summer 2028.
- Experience with discrete-event predictive modeling and digital twin simulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with optimization tools like CPLEX or linear programming is a plus.
- Experience in production planning or manufacturing automation is a plus.
