    About the role#

    The Volunteer Kids Coach role is a central part of our league. You will teach game fundamentals, enforce rules, and promote sportsmanship. This is a non-paid volunteer position where you act as an on-field coach and mentor. You will report directly to Sports Coordinators and Site Managers. Successful volunteers may be considered for future paid positions. We provide training, food, gift cards, and letters of recommendation for your service.

    What you'll do#

    • Enforce i9 Sports rules to keep games safe and fun.
    • Teach core sports concepts and sportsmanship values.
    • Manage game time and scorekeeping.
    • Lead age-appropriate instruction and competition.
    • Step in to coach when volunteer coaches are absent.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and provide customer service to families.
    • Report game progress to site management.

    What you'll need#

    • Prior experience in coaching, playing, or officiating sports.
    • Strong verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and solve problems on the field.
    • Proactive mindset with the ability to take charge of situations to ensure player safety.
    • Skill in building professional relationships.
    • A positive attitude.
    • Ability to pass a National Criminal Background Check.

    Location & details#

    • This role is on-site in Fullerton and Buena Park, California.
    • You must be available to work every Saturday from 9am to 12:30pm.
