About the role#
This student worker position supports food service and catering operations on campus. It provides an opportunity to develop customer service and social skills while assisting with food preparation and safety tasks. This is a paid, full-time position available for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Properly store food in accordance with established standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items and ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation, and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Must have or acquire a food safety certification.
- Ability to demonstrate strong guest service skills.
- This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Compliance with uniform or personal protective equipment requirements may be necessary.
- Open to students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or Nutrition.
