About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a student assistant to work with the California Department of Transportation. You will work under the supervision of Senior Transportation Engineers in the District 10 Project Management, Asset Management, and GIS units. This is a part-time, temporary role designed for learning and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Create maps and perform data analysis using ArcGIS PRO.
- Assist with data entry, retrieval, transformation, and analysis from Caltrans databases.
- Build reports using visualization software such as Tableau and Microsoft BI.
- Develop dashboards to support project and asset management units.
What you'll need#
- You must be a college student attending an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units.
- You must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Your declared major must be Computer Science.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, ArcGIS, and Google Earth.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
Location & details#
- Location: Stockton, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
- Compensation: $18.28 to $28.16 per hour.
