About the role#
As an Intern Diesel Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals offers. You will support our branch operations through manual work and maintenance tasks while assisting our experienced mechanics. This role is intended to help you build a foundation for a future career as a service technician upon completion of your degree or certification.
What you'll do#
- Learn about the various types of equipment in our rental fleet and their applications.
- Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics during daily maintenance.
- Support general branch operations through manual tasks.
- Deliver quality service to our customers.
- Work toward a service technician role as you complete your education.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a technical degree or certification.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Self-motivated approach with a strong drive to get work done.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
