About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Tax Winter Internship for the 2027 season. You will gain hands-on experience by working with a diverse client base across various industries. You will collaborate with internal teams to produce tax deliverables while building your technical skills in a professional office setting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Use tax software to input data and calculate liabilities, deductions, and credits.
- Conduct tax research to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and answer questions regarding tax matters.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive tax files and documentation for client engagements.
- Analyze financial statements to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university in an accounting, finance, or related degree program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- 0 to 1 year of relevant experience.
- Active pursuit of CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure.
- Ability to perform desk-based computer work for long periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in Farmington Hills, Sterling Heights, Ann Arbor, or Port Huron, Michigan.
- The position is temporary and lasts for less than six months.
- Note that travel may be required based on client needs.
