About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to support our client base. This role involves preparing tax returns and extensions while gaining hands-on experience with firm practices. You will contribute to tax compliance and consulting projects, helping clients manage their tax obligations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions using firm software.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Help respond to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions.
- Organize files and use referencing systems to ensure accuracy and minimize rework.
- Research tax information using online tools and monitor tax law developments.
- Support the team by developing methods to maximize client benefits.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Current pursuit of a Masters degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Active pursuit of school credits required for CPA licensure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is a plus.
