About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Chicago, Illinois. You will join the Robotics & Operations team to support projects involving robotic systems, logistics, and shopfloor efficiency. This role is on-site and involves a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Test and improve material flow throughout the factory.
- Analyze and close gaps in touchless manufacturing processes for both small and large parts.
- Assist with the design and evaluation of robotic systems for integration with TRUMPF machines.
- Work with engineering teams on robotics, AGV, and bending projects.
- Support daily production operations by monitoring and maintaining machinery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to boost production quality and efficiency.
- Create marketing and educational materials regarding Robotic Process Automation for the sheetmetal industry.
- Help the team with customer-related project tasks and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Informatics.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and the fabrication industry.
- Proficiency in the Office 365 Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience with robotics or fabrication projects is a plus.
