About the role#
TRUMPF is hiring an Occupational Safety Intern to gain practical experience in an industrial environment. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Farmington, Connecticut. The internship runs from January 2027 through August 2027, requiring at least 32 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Perform hazard and risk assessments for existing and new manufacturing processes.
- Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, including noise and exhaust ventilation monitoring.
- Inspect facilities for life safety, physical hazards, and hazardous materials.
- Manage weekly and monthly inspections of waste and chemical storage areas and prepare related reports.
- Maintain the hazardous chemical and Safety Data Sheet management system.
- Collect and analyze data to report on leading and lagging occupational safety metrics.
- Participate in reviews of safety programs like Lockout and Tagout, Electrical Safety, and Emergency Response Plans.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing an undergraduate degree in occupational safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
