About the role#
TRUMPF is hiring a Machine Assembly Intern to join our team in Farmington, Connecticut. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work at least 32 hours per week to gain practical experience that complements your engineering studies.
What you'll do#
- Analyze current assembly processes and implement improvements.
- Create work instructions and conduct time studies to define production standards.
- Maintain and improve the 5S process within the department.
- Review and implement new layout plans to streamline supply chains and internal processes.
- Use the SAP system to link work instructions to production steps.
- Support the supervisory team in reaching productivity and quality goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college-level student.
- Academic or experimental background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Visio, SolidWorks, and SAP.
- Familiarity with Toyota Production System and Six Sigma methods is helpful, though not required.
