About the role#
Caterpillar offers a paid, full-time internship within our Business Operations organization. This 12-week program allows students to gain practical experience while building core competencies in areas like channel development, account management, and sales strategy. You will help define and deliver customer-facing digital business and services that drive sales and customer loyalty.
What you'll do#
- Build foundational knowledge of Caterpillar, our products, services, and customers.
- Grow personally and professionally through hands-on technical training and soft skills development.
- Collaborate with experts across product development, dealer management, marketing, and sales.
- Work in various rotational assignments to learn about our strategy and operations.
- Manage an assigned territory and serve as a primary connection between dealers and Caterpillar.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a 4-year university or college pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 12 credit hours before the start of the program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0, with no rounding.
- Ability to relocate to your assigned internship location for the duration of the program.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position requiring work five days a week.
- Locations include Peoria, Illinois; Tucson, Arizona; Houston, Texas; Irving, Texas; Cary, North Carolina; and Seguin, Texas.
- The program runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
