About the role#
As a Supply Chain Intern at Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, you will own a project or business initiative that supports real objectives. You will move beyond shadowing to contribute directly to our operations. After initial training and onboarding, you will work with your manager to drive your project forward. The program includes networking, professional development, and site tours to help you understand the manufacturing industry. You will conclude the summer by presenting your results to company leaders.
What you'll do#
- Lead projects that support business objectives and deliver measurable results.
- Learn the fundamentals of your role through hands-on training and mentorship.
- Analyze data and operational challenges to find improvements.
- Contribute your own solutions to existing problems.
- Work with team members and stakeholders across different functions.
- Present your findings and recommendations to peers and leadership.
- Gain exposure to planning, logistics, inventory management, procurement, and continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution and Logistics, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- A drive to learn and adapt in a new environment.
