About the role#
Caterpillar's Manufacturing and Supply Chain Intern program offers students the opportunity to work alongside supply chain professionals on project-based assignments. Interns gain hands-on experience, participate in networking opportunities with management, and develop business skills through team interactions and performance evaluations. This is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) internship.
What you'll do#
Interns engage with diverse project responsibilities across supply chain, logistics, and planning functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze and maintain assigned processes to support output excellence and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate logistics workflows, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns.
- Participate in business analyses, including determining sales and product demand.
- Ensure the availability of inventory for assigned products.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute to an inclusive and productive work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a 4-year university degree program, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Industrial Design.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours before the start of the internship.
- Minimum 2.8/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to relocate to the assigned work location and work on-site five days a week.
- Project or team leadership experience is considered a plus.

- Locations: Peoria, Decatur, Morton, Mossville, and East Peoria, Illinois; Griffin and Alpharetta, Georgia; Irving, Texas; and Seguin, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site (5 days per week).
- Duration: Summer 2026.
