About the role#
Caterpillar's Manufacturing and Supply Chain Internship is a 12-week, full-time program designed to provide students with hands-on project experience. Interns work alongside manufacturing professionals to develop business skills, participate in networking opportunities with management, and contribute to team-based projects. Success in this role is measured through performance evaluations and project presentations.
What you'll do#
- Manufacturing Engineering: Support the enhancement and modification of facility equipment and processes, monitor reliability, and provide technical engineering support.
- Quality: Analyze non-conformance data, maintain quality system documentation, and assist in internal and external audits to identify root causes of quality issues.
- Automation: Research customer experience with robotic platforms, document architecture and software design, and assist in the verification and validation of robotic tools.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 30 completed semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.8/4.0.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
- Ability to relocate to the assigned work location for the duration of the internship.
