About the role#
This is a 10-week paid internship focused on property management. You will rotate through key areas including leasing, maintenance, operations, and management. You will work alongside a senior mentor and participate in hands-on projects to gain experience in the multifamily industry.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and support in-house and offsite marketing efforts.
- Develop marketing analysis reports and complete market surveys.
- Participate in property tours and site visits.
- Learn maintenance management, including processing requests and ensuring rent readiness.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the leasing process and review financial move out procedures.
- Provide customer service to residents and resolve complaints.
- Handle accounts receivable and provide clerical and phone support.
- Maintain digital and paper records and manage a community calendar of events.
- Assist with legal eviction processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program, preferably in Business Administration.
- Completion of sophomore year by the start of the internship is preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience or involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- Understanding of fair housing laws.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle stress effectively.
- Fluency in reading and writing English.
