About the role#
This is a 10-week paid internship where you will rotate through various aspects of property management. You will work at an assigned community and gain hands-on experience in leasing, maintenance, operations, and management. A senior leader will mentor you throughout the program, and you will assist the leadership team with real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and learn the leasing process.
- Handle marketing tasks including developing analysis reports and conducting market surveys.
- Participate in property tours and site visits.
- Learn maintenance management, including processing requests and completing pre-inspections for rent readiness.
- Provide customer service and resolve resident complaints.
- Process accounts receivable and review financial move-out procedures.
- Assist with clerical duties, phone support, and maintaining digital and paper records.
- Support community events and assist with legal eviction processes.
- Learn to use industry-specific software programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program, with completion of sophomore year preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience or extracurricular involvement.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with fair housing laws.
- Ability to fluently read and write English.
