About the role#
This 10-week paid internship offers a rotation through property management functions including leasing, operations, maintenance, and management. You will work under the mentorship of a senior leader and contribute to real-world projects. The program provides exposure to the multifamily industry while you learn how to support community operations.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and support in-house and offsite marketing efforts.
- Develop marketing analysis reports and complete market surveys.
- Learn and use industry software programs for daily operations.
- Participate in property tours and site visits.
- Process maintenance requests and learn maintenance management techniques.
- Provide customer service to residents and resolve complaints.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the leasing process.
- Handle clerical tasks, phone support, and maintain digital and paper records.
- Manage accounts receivable and review financial move-out processes.
- Assist with legal eviction processes and complete pre-inspections for rent readiness.
- Maintain a community calendar of events and practice critical decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program, preferably in Real Estate, Hospitality, or Property Management.
- Completion of sophomore year and at least 1 year of work experience or extracurricular involvement are preferred.
- Ability to fluently read and write English and perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook with intermediate computer skills.
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of fair housing laws and a customer service orientation.
- Ability to handle stress and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.
