About the role#
The Real Estate Management Intern will rotate through all aspects of property management at an assigned community. You will work alongside our team to gain hands-on experience in leasing, maintenance, operations, and corporate functions. This is a paid, 10-week program where you will be mentored by a senior leader and contribute to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and support in-house and offsite marketing efforts, including developing analysis reports.
- Participate in property tours and site visits while learning to use industry software.
- Assist with maintenance management, including processing requests and completing pre-inspections for rent readiness.
- Provide customer service to residents and resolve complaints using critical decision-making skills.
- Support daily operations by processing accounts receivable, maintaining records, and providing clerical and phone support.
- Manage a community calendar of events and assist with legal eviction processes.
- Review financial move-out procedures and complete market surveys.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program, with a preference for studies in Real Estate, Hospitality, or Property Management.
- Completion of sophomore year by the start of the internship is preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience or involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as general computer and internet proficiency.
- Ability to fluently read and write English and perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- A strong sales background and knowledge of fair housing laws.

- This role is based in San Diego, California.
- The position is on-site and full-time.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends, may be required.
