About the role#
This 10-week paid internship offers a rotation through property management operations, including leasing, maintenance, and administrative management. You will work under the guidance of a senior mentor and contribute to real-world projects at an assigned community. This role requires availability for some nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and learn the leasing process.
- Develop marketing analysis reports and complete market surveys.
- Assist with maintenance management, including processing requests and pre-inspections for rent readiness.
- Provide customer service and resolve resident complaints.
- Process accounts receivable and review financial move-out procedures.
- Support daily operations through clerical tasks, phone support, and record maintenance.
- Manage community calendars and assist with legal eviction processes.
- Learn and use industry-specific software programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program (sophomore year completed preferred).
- At least 1 year of work experience or extracurricular involvement.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- Knowledge of fair housing laws.
- Ability to handle stress and demonstrate leadership.
- Fluency in reading and writing English.
