About the role#
This 10-week paid internship offers a rotation through property management operations, including leasing, maintenance, and corporate functions. You will work under the guidance of a senior mentor and contribute to real-world projects at an assigned community. This role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dallas, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Practice sales techniques and support marketing through in-house and offsite activities.
- Develop marketing analysis reports and complete market surveys.
- Participate in property tours and site visits.
- Learn maintenance management techniques and process maintenance requests.
- Handle clerical tasks, phone support, and maintain digital and paper records.
- Assist with accounts receivable and the financial move out process.
- Maintain a community calendar of events.
- Complete pre-inspections to ensure units are ready for rent.
- Assist with legal eviction processes.
- Resolve resident complaints using critical decision-making skills.
- Learn and use industry-specific software programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited degree program, preferably in Business Administration.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions.
- Knowledge of state fair housing laws.
- Sales background and customer service orientation.
- Ability to handle stress and demonstrate leadership.
- Experience with printers, telephones, and fax machines.
- Fluency in reading and writing English.
- At least 1 year of work experience or extracurricular involvement is preferred.
