About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based at our corporate headquarters in Holland, Michigan. You will join a cohort of interns for a 12-week program during the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in our shop, working on a wide range of projects ranging from custom parts and prototypes to showroom-quality deliverables.
What you'll do#
- Use shop tools including CNC, brake press, lathes, manual mills, woodworking equipment, hand tools, paint guns, sewing machines, welders, and 3D printers.
- Create prototypes, one-off parts, custom components, and small-batch manufacturing pieces.
- Develop custom order and showroom-quality deliverables.
- Attend workshops focused on networking, public speaking, and AI tools.
- Connect with mentors and participate in intern social events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program, with an associate degree in Prototype and Design or Model Design completed or in progress by Fall 2027.
- Experience with woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, and surface finishing.
- Ability to read blueprints, utilize geometry, and calculate tolerances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs alone, or up to 100 lbs with accommodations.
- A GPA of 2.95 or higher is preferred.
- Experience with CAD software is preferred.
- Prior employment, Haworth experience, or extracurricular involvement is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and research solutions.
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
